CAB-WELDING SG3 G4Si1 is a copper-coated solid welding wire for laser welding unalloyed and low-alloy steels. As a filler material, it supports the production of uniform and durable welded joints and is particularly suitable for applications where additional welding wire is required to bridge gaps or for targeted build-up of weld seams.
The welding wire is classified according to DIN EN ISO 14341-A: G46 4 M21 4Si1 and is suitable for a wide range of applications in steel and metal construction. These include metal frame construction, mechanical and plant engineering, as well as the manufacture and repair of steel structures.
Suitable for Laser Welding with the xTool MetalFab
SG3 G4Si1 welding wire is suitable for use with the xTool MetalFab laser welding machine and can be used as a filler material for wire welding. With a diameter of 0.039 in (1.0 mm), the wire is suitable for the 0.039 in (1.0 mm) wire feeder of the xTool MetalFab. The xTool wire feeder supports wire diameters from 0.031 to 0.063 in (0.8 to 1.6 mm) and spools weighing up to 15 kg with an outer diameter of up to 11.81 in (300 mm).
Argon or nitrogen can be used as shielding gases for laser welding. When using argon, a high gas purity of at least 99.99% should be ensured. xTool specifies a gas flow rate of 15–30 l/min for laser welding.

G4Si1 welding wire is suitable for welding unalloyed and low-alloy steels and provides a solid basis for a wide range of welding applications. The 0.039 in (1.0 mm) version enables controlled addition of filler material and is particularly suitable for finer and more precise welding work.
